Why are you looking at your Instagram feed?
The Globe and Mail is looking at what it means to be “on social media”.
The blog, launched last month, explores the challenges that come with it.
In the story, “Why Are You Looking At Your Instagram Feed?” a woman asks: “Are you going to be on social media forever?”
She also questions the “beautiful” images and videos on Instagram.
“What’s the point of being on Instagram?” she wonders.
The article explains that many people are “looking at their Instagram feed and thinking about it” when they’re not actually using the service.
It’s not that they’re missing out on a photo or video, says the blog.
“It’s that they are not looking at it, and it’s really, really hard to get away from that.”
And that’s why it’s so important to keep looking at the service, says Stephanie Wachs, an assistant professor of communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“We really need to get people to do that,” she says.
The blog’s tagline is, “How do we know that we are being authentic and not fake?”
It explains that when people are not actually engaging with their feeds, it can make it difficult to identify what they’re posting and whether it’s a photo, video or text message.
“You’re not going to know if the person posting is an artist or a celebrity,” says Wach.
“There’s a huge disconnect in terms of how you interact with a social network, and you can feel like you’re just using your eyes.”
In fact, social media has changed the way people interact with each other, says Wachi.
“Now people are interacting with their faces, their body language, their bodies,” she explains.
“I think that’s one of the things that is going to make it really hard for us as an industry to keep up with it.”
What you need to know about: Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat The blog explores some of the social media platforms that have made it easier for people to get their news, pictures and videos.
There are apps like Buzzfeed and Snapchat that help users discover and share content and videos, but they’re also popular with marketers.
The Globe’s Amanda Faulders says the social network is changing “what people are going to do, and who they’re going to post to.”
She says it’s important to be aware of the types of content that people post, how they interact with it and what kind of images and video they post.
“The best thing you can do to create a good image of yourself is not to use photos and videos that are not genuine, or not genuine in any way,” says Faulder.
It is also important to look at who you’re posting to and what you are sharing, she says, adding that it’s very important to post content that you have permission to post.
In this case, the woman’s comments suggest she’s not a regular user of the app, but she is using it to share pictures of her baby.
“So you have a very clear picture of who you are and where you are, and the only thing you have to do is share that, and that’s what I’m doing,” says the woman.
“People are using social media to connect with their friends, family and loved ones.
They’re trying to reach out and share information.”
